With Model Code of Conduct in sight, a new IAS transfer list in the offing?

Jaipur: A small transfer list of IAS officers is being prepared and it is believed that it will be released by the month end. Sources reveal that half a dozen names may feature in this list.

Two IAS are currently on APO. The post of Jaipur Divisional Commissioner will go vacant on Sept 30 and IAS Renu Jaipal is also retiring on the same day. Moreover, regular appointments can be made on posts that are being held as additional charge.

After being relieved from Election Department, 2003 batch IAS Krishna Kunal is on APO from September 15. In the past, Kunal held the additional charge of Secretary, Animal Husbandry for a long time and at present, this responsibility, as additional charge, is with Secretary, Labour - Vikas Sitaram Bhale. Word is that Kunal can, once again, be appointed as Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Gopalan.

2019 batch IAS Girdhar, who was suspended in the Ajmer hotel scuffle case, is on APO from August 11, after getting reinstated. He is being given salary for past seven weeks, even though he is sitting at home. He too can be given some responsibility. Owing to the VRS of IAS Antar Singh Nehra, the chair of Jaipur Divisional Commissioner will go vacant. Since Assembly polls are round the corner, hence appointment of this post is extremely crucial. A new Commissioner of Women Empowerement Department will also be appointed in place of Renu Jaipal. Moreover, Chairman, Tax Board, Mahendra Kumar, will also retire on October 30 and a new appointment is also suspected in his place. Posts such as Commissioner - Industries, MD - RSMM (Udaipur), ED - RUDCICO, MD - RAJFED, IG STamp, Registration (Ajmer) and Chairman, Pollution Control Board are being currently held as additional charge. It is believed that prior to the Model Code of Conduct, which will come into force in first week of October, the DoP can make regular appointments on these posts.
