Verma files FIR against Mayor and councillors for harassment
Jaipur: Additional Commissioner of Heritage Municipal Corporation Rajendra Verma has filed a case against 10 people, including Mayor Munesh Gurjar and her husband at the Manak Chowk police station under the SC/ST Act on Wednesday. ACP Hemant Jakhar has been investigated. Verma had sought permission from the government to file the case. After the registration of the case, there is a possibility of action against the Mayor, Deputy Mayor Aslam Farooqui and Councillors of Heritage Municipal Corporation.
The Additional Commissioner wrote a letter saying that the councillors threatened him by making him hostage and also abused him.
Notably, three days ago, the Mayor along with the supporting councillors met Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and demanded action against Verma.
After the registration of the case, the Mayor also took legal opinion regarding this. Mayor Munesh Gurjar said that she was looking into the matter. A case will be filed after taking an opinion of the lawyers.
Farooqui said that everything will be clear post investigation. “When a person gets a case registered after five days, it is with the wrong intention,” he said.
