Van Mahotsav is a beacon of hope for tree conservation: CM
Jaipur: On Wednesday, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma inaugurated the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ drive at the SDRF Campus in Village Gadota, Dudu district, Sharma announced that inspired by PM Modi’s commitment to environmental protection, the state government aims to plant 7 crore saplings this year through the “Mukhyamantri Vriksharopan Maha Abhiyan,” with a total of 50 crore saplings planned over next five years. A ‘Matri Van’ will be set up in every district, featuring diverse species like Banyan and Peepal, with community participation. The initiative will distribute 51 lakh certificates to tree lovers through the ‘Raj Jio Tree App,’ and 2,000 ‘Van Mitras’ will be appointed to care for the plants, with retired employees as guardians.
