UN delegates meet Deputy CM Diya Kumari, discuss tourism, women empowerment
Jaipur: The representatives from the UN held discussions with the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Tourism and Women and Child Development, Diya Kumari, at the Secretariat in Jaipur on Friday. The discussions included topics such as women empowerment, anaemia prevention, gender discrimination elimination, and the promotion of girl child education.
The Deputy CM convened a meeting with UN Resident Coordinator Shombi Sharp, Chief Field Officer of UNICEF Rajasthan Isabel Bardem, and Chief of Staff of the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator, Radhika Kaul Batra. During the meeting, Diya Kumari expressed plans to strengthen ‘Anganwadis’ in State. Additionally, sustainable initiatives aimed at promoting both domestic & international tourism were discussed. The conservation of State’s heritage through the development of Geo Heritage Sites and World Heritage Sites was deliberated upon.
