Tourist from Raj drowns in river Ganga in U’khand

Rishikesh: A tourist from Rajasthan drowned in Ganga river in Rishikesh during rafting on Friday.
Harish Meena, a resident of Jaipur, along with 13 others reached Muni ki Reti and went for rafting. The raft capsized in a strong current of water following which 32 year old Meena drowned.

According to eyewitnesses, his life jacket opened as soon as he fell in the Ganges and therefore he drowned.
State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF) started a rescue operation but there was no recovery till late evening. In charge inspector Ritesh Shah said that action will be taken in case of negligence.
