Tomatoes at Rs 80 per kg bring relief
Jaipur: The Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs has made efforts to make tomatoes available to the people at a subsidized rate. In Jaipur and Kota, the sale of tomatoes started at Rs 80 per kg by the National Cooperative Consumer Federation of India Limited (NCCF) beginning Monday.
A total of 24 tonnes of tomatoes were brought on the first day. Fourteen tonnes for distribution in Jaipur, while 10 tonnes of tomatoes were sent to Kota. Consumer Affairs Secretary Rohit Kumar Singh is monitoring the supply of tomatoes. In a conversation with First India, women present at Nehru Sahakar Bhavan said that everything tastes bland without tomatoes but now we will be able to enjoy food again.
