Tigress ST-17 gives birth to 3 cubs at Sariska
Jaipur: A tigress has given birth to three cubs taking the number of big cats at the Sariska Tiger Reserve to 43, officials said on Tuesday.
Over the past three months, three tigresses have given birth to 13 cubs. Initially, ST-12 gave birth to four cubs, followed by ST-27 delivering two cubs, and tigress ST-22 was spotted with four cubs.
Now, tigress ST-17 has also been seen in the camera trap with three cubs. “First India News” was the first to report on the births.
The tiger population in Sariska signifies the importance of relocation from core areas to villages. The tigresses have chosen places where villagers once lived, and now lush grasslands thrive. This indicates that tigers are no longer stressed, and with reduced human interference, they are contributing to natural environment conservation.
