This Diwali 2.5L eco-friendly lamps to light up Jaipur: JMCG Mayor
Jaipur: Jaipur Municipal Corporation (Greater) mayor Dr Somya said that 2.5 lakh lamps will illuminate the “Choti Kashi” Jaipur this Diwali. Arrangements will be made by the JMC (G). Lamps will be placed at major temples and intersections, and the Greater Corporation will celebrate the festival of lights with cow-dung lamps.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, she said that the preparations that will be made by the corporation for the Diwali festival. She said that clothes and sweets will be distributed in slum areas on Diwali. The corporation will distribute clothes to needy people. Clothes collected at the RRR centre will be distributed to those in need. A special cleanliness campaign will be launched next week. This campaign will begin from the JMCG headquarters, where officials and employees will clean the area. All the potholes in the JMC greater area will be filled before Diwali. The work will be completed by October 26, she added.
