There’s no place for violence, hatred in an ideal society: CM
Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot while addressing the launching ceremony of Ahimsa Rath organised to mark 2550th ‘Nirvana Utsav’of Lord Mahavir, said that truth and nonviolence are the basic spirit of the Constitution. “The State Govt is also following these ideals. The message of Bhagwan Mahavir is that the society should be free from violence and hatred. Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi also received the teachings of truth and non-violence from Jain Muni,” the CM said. He paid homage to Acharya Shri Sanmati Sagar Ji Maharaj on his 13th Samadhi Divas and discussed with Sunil Sagar Ji Maharaj various schemes of public interest being run in the state.
“The state government has set up the country’s first peace and non-violence department to spread the teachings of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi,” he said.
Gehlot flagged off the non-violence chariot at the function after offering prayers. “Along with the education of truth, non-violence, the message of de-addiction will also reach the common people through the chariot.” Earlier, the Chief Minister also released books on the occasion.
Agriculture Minister Lalchand Kataria said that Ahimsa Rath will disseminate the message of peace and nonviolence in entire Raj.
