Talkatora beautification project becoming victim of negligence as works get delayed

Jaipur: More than Rs 18 crore have been spent on Talkatora beautification but the project is still incomplete and the condition of works has also turned bad due to negligence of authorities.

Floating fountain of Pondrik Garden is closed and water is dirty due to lack of treatment. There is no water supply in Jai Niwas and Pondrik Udyan.

Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation had handed over the project to the Smart City Project but no action was taken to get the maintenance done by the contract firm. The project of Talkatora & Ishwar Singh’s Chhatri was worth Rs 18.18 crore.The railing installed under the project has broken and trees have grown in the walls behind the lake and houses. The negligence has led to the failure of the night tourism promotion plan.
