SWC QUESTIONS NCW’S SILENCE OVER WRESTLERS’ AGITATION
Jaipur: Chairperson of Rajasthan State Commission for Women Rehana Rayaz Chisti has questioned the silence of the National Commission for Women in the matter of not hearing women wrestlers in Delhi. During an interaction with the media on Thursday, she said that the Commission will be pressured to take action against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The Commission is also considering the legal aspects related to requesting the Supreme Court to take suo motu cognizance of the matter.
Rayaz said that the matter does not pertain to Delhi alone and it concerns the entire country. “Concern has been expressed even at the international level,” she said, demanding removal of Singh from the post. She said that Union Home Min Amit Shah should stop defending him. She said that the voice of the aggrieved women wrestlers is being suppressed. “The Delhi Police is acting like a puppet despite the agitation being held near the Parliament,” she said.
