Surprise inspections needed to attain drug-free India: ACS Kumar
Jaipur: Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Anand Kumar, during a meeting of the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Rajasthan at the Government Secretariat on Friday, said that to achieve the goal of a drug-free India, it is most important to make the young generation aware about its ill effects. He directed that along with strict monitoring of purchase and sale of intoxicants, surprise inspection of paan and tea stalls near educational institutions should be done regularly.
Kumar told the officials to keep a watch on the transportation route of drugs and the illegal sale of Schedule H drugs. He said that to make the state drugfree, all the departments concerned will have to work in coordination. He said, “A pledge should be made from time to time in educational institutions regarding a drug-free state and a joint campaign for destruction of poppy straw in the state should be done.”
He also took information from the officers regarding the compliance of the instructions given by the Chief Secretary in the previously held meeting of the State Level Committee of Narco Coordination Center (NCORD) and gave necessary guidelines.
