Sports council writes to BCCI for organising IPL matches in Jaipur
Jaipur: The Sports Council has written a letter to BCCI demanding the organisation of the IPL matches in Jaipur. It said that the RCA does not have the rights of the stadium after the MoU ended and the Council would provide all facilities in stadium.
Meanwhile, former CM Ashok Gehlot posted on X that the Sports Council took a hasty action against the RCA. “The action taken against RCA is motivated by political malice. If the ending of MoU was the reason, even then this action could have been taken gracefully instead of suddenly locking it. Such actions will reduce the trust of national organizations in the sports associations of Rajasthan. The sports environment created during our government’s term will deteriorate. Thousands of cricket lovers and players are upset with this action,” he posted.
Notably on Friday, due to non-payment of dues of about Rs 40 crore, Rajasthan Sports Council had taken the possession of offices of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) and Rajasthan Cricket Academy and had sealed the office. Both sides have spoken about their side of the story and in such a situation former CM Gehlot has now also posted his views on social media platform.
