‘Soft dummy’ of tigress being used to save two new cubs at Nahargarh
Jaipur: Veterinarian Dr Arvind Mathur is committed to keep two tiger cubs alive in the Neonatal Centre of Nahargarh Biological Park. He is raising them like a mother. He has kept a dummy of a tigress at Neonatal Care so that the cubs do not feel the absence of their mother.
Being virus free himself, he feeds the cubs in his lap for hours. Dr Mathur is not new to this. He has raised two sevenday-old panther cubs ‘Shiva’ and ‘Radha’ in a similar way.
Unfortunately, Shiva died at the age of one. But Radha is 21 months old and may be rewilded. Dr Mathur also took care of tigress T 79’s year-old cub Ranveer.
Dr Mathur has a huge fan following on social media and wildlife enthusiasts wait for his every photo and video posted. His picture of feeding milk from a bottle to both the tiger cubs while they sit on his lap has become very popular.
