Slow start marks day 1 of nominations
Jaipur: The nomination process for first phase of voting in 12 seats under Lok Sabha polls in Rajasthan started on Wednesday. Officials said that two candidates filed nominations on the first day.
Jaipur District Election Officer Prakashraj Purohit said that on the first day of nomination, one candidate each for Jaipur and Jaipur Rural Lok Sabha constituencies has presented his nomination papers. Shashank submitted his nomination papers as an independent candidate for Jaipur seat. At the same time, Right to Recall Party candidate Aditya Prakash Sharma filed his nomination for Jaipur Rural Lok Sabha constituency. He said that nominations can be made till March 27. However, nominations filing will not be there on March 23, 24 and 25 due govt holidays. Nomination papers will be scrutinized on March 28, whereas nomination papers can be withdrawn till March.
In the first phase, voting will be held in 12 Lok Sabha constituencies - Ganganagar, Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jaipur Rural, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, KarauliDholpur, Dausa and Nagaur on April 19.
