Setback to Kanha Hotel and Spa Pvt Ltd
Jaipur: The National Wildlife Board has not cleared a proposal regarding Wildlife clearance to Kanha Hotel and Spa Private Limited. The proposal was not approved in the 78th meeting of the Standing Committee of the Board held under the chairmanship of Union Forest and Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav. The hotel is just 95 meters away from the boundary of Nahargarh Wildlife Sanctuary.
Nahargarh Forest and Wildlife Protection and Service Committee has been continuously complaining about this project at Kunda, Amer Delhi Road. Now Nahargarh Forest and Wildlife Protection and Service Committee has decided to present an environmental petition before the National Green Tribunal, Central Zone, Bhopal to demolish this hotel and stop its operation with immediate effect. The hotel has been constructed in Chimanpura village of Amer tehsil.
Committee Chairman Rajendra Tiwari said that the hotel operator now has no right to conduct business activity within the limits of the eco-sensitive zone of Nahargarh Wildlife Sanctuary. Following development, uncertainty surrounds the fate of the Taj Group project. The Forest Dept may decide to demolish or seize the hotel construction.
