SC disposes of Raj power dept petition about coal block allocation
New Delhi/Jaipur: In a case related to Chhattisgarh coal block allocation, Supreme Court has disposed of the petition of Rajasthan Electricity Department. The petitions of social activist Sudeep Srivastava and others challenging the allocation will now be heard. The Rajasthan coal block was allotted to Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited in Chhattisgarh and environmental clearance was given by social workers and other organizations for allocation in forest areas. A petition was filed in the Supreme Court regarding other issues and the matter got stuck in NGT.
After this, a petition was filed by the department in the Supreme Court.
