Revenue deficit at Rs 32,395 cr, debt up by Rs 52,869 crore
Jaipur: The revenue deficit of Rajasthan, which is struggling with poor financial condition, has reached Rs 32,395 crore. In the first half of this financial year, there was an increase of 10.86% in tax revenue but the increase in debt by Rs 52,869 crore worsened the condition of the government treasury.
The Finance Department has released the FRBM report for the period from April to September 2023 of the previous government, in which it has been told that earlier the revenue deficit was Rs 22,678 crore, which increased by Rs 10,000 crore to Rs 32,395.18 crore. The government’s debt also increased to Rs 5 lakh 37,972 crore in the first half as compared to Rs 4 lakh 79,103 crore for the financial year 2022-23. The state’s non-tax revenue decreased by 8.15 percent in 2023-24 as compared to 2022-23.
