Resident docs end strike as govt revokes suspension
Jaipur: In a big relief to the patients across the state, resident doctors have called off their strike. The action which was taken against the residents has been revoked. ACS Shubhra Singh has confirmed that the strike is over now.
Earlier, resident doctors on protest tried to draw the government’s attention towards their demands by taking out a ‘scapegoat’ rally on the streets of Jaipur on Sunday. Protesters wore goat masks on their faces. A large number of resident doctors joined the rally and warned that if their demands were not met, the matter would escalate further.
Resident doctors of all the government hospitals attached to SMS Medical College of Jaipur went on strike after three resident doctors were suspended in Kanwatia Hospital after a woman delivered in the open. The strike is under the banner of Jaipur Association of Resident Doctors. It said that the PG students were innocent and action is not being taken against the real culprits.
Residents Union Jard also claimed that now residents associated with other government medical colleges are also joining them in their movement.
