Rajiv Gandhi’s farsightedness strengthened India: CM Gehlot

Jaipur: Reacting to Rs 2,000 currency note not being legal after September 30, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Sunday that the Centre has not given the account of the time when demonetisation was done earlier.

“Whatever money was in the market, all that money was deposited in the banks. This information was given in the Lok Sabha. No one knows how much would have been spent in the Rs 2,000 note because they haven’t given the previous account till date. Who will ask the account from them?,” said Gehlot while addressing the media after paying tributes to former PM Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary at PCC office on Sunday.

Gehlot said that Rajiv Gandhi gave the right to vote at the age of 18, so that the youth power can play an important role in the development of the country. He also ensured the participation of women and scheduled caste-tribes in politics. “ Rajiv Gandhi’s farsightedness strengthened India,” the CM said.

“The BJP dreams about Rahul Gandhi even at night and indulges in low level propaganda on social media against the Gandhi family. But today the youth is understanding,” the CM said.

On this occasion, Ministers Dr Mahesh Joshi, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, Mamta Bhupesh, GS Dotasra, along with MLA Rafeek Khan, Amin Kagzi, and Congress leaders Archana Sharma and others were present.
