Rajasthan cooperative bank ATMs lie defunct for two months, customers harried

Jaipur: The ATM machines in the state’s largest Rajasthan Cooperative Bank and in 29 District Central Cooperative Banks are not functioning for the last two months. The machines of 450 branches of cooperative banks have not been working since June. As a result, 30,000 customers of Cooperative Bank and 30 lakh farmers in debt are facing problems.

A total of 199 ATMs of cooperative banks are non-functional in the entire state, including Jaipur. Cooperative banks issued ATM cards to their customers in 2017 and the expiry date was June 2024.

Despite the assurance of Cooperative Minister Gautam Dhaka, new ATM cards were not issued. The Reserve Bank of India has brought its banks on the systems of UPI and ULI while ATMs are stalled in cooperative banks.
