Raj sets record with over 15.8 mn tourists till Sept end
Jaipur: Tourism in Rajasthan is currently at its peak. By the end of September this year, more than 15.8 million tourists had visited the state, which is a record.
The appeal of Rajasthan’s tourism products is such that, on average, 585,000 tourists visit daily, and more than 1.75 million tourists visit every month.
Rajasthan is heading towards setting a record in tourist arrivals that may only be broken by Rajasthan itself in the future. From the land of tourists, the phrase “Padharo Mhare Desh” (Welcome to my land) is resonating across the world.
By September this year, a record 158 million tourists have visited, while in 2023, during the same period, 132.8 million tourists had arrived.
There has been an 18.91% increase in tourist arrivals compared to 2023. Domestic tourist arrivals have increased by 18.77%, while foreign tourists have increased by 37.73%. There has been a significant rise in the number of pilgrims in Rajasthan.
The aggressive marketing by the Tourism Department and safaris by the Forest Department have been effective. The Monument Management and development work by the Archaeology Department has changed the landscape.
Jungle safaris and water sports have also increased the craze for the Desert state.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari’s vision, along with Ravi Jain, Commissioner VP Singh, and Director of Archaeology Dr. Pankaj Dharmendra’s efforts, have yielded positive results. 2024 is being considered the “Golden Year” for the travel trade.
