Raj govt to make strict laws on love jihad & conversion
Jaipur: The Bhajan Lal Sharma govt plans to introduce stringent laws to combat love jihad & illegal conversions. The govt has decided to withdraw the 2008 Religious Freedom Bill passed during previous Raje govt, which has been pending with central govt since its introduction on March 20, 2008. Bill has not yet received presidential assent.
Due to lack of approval from central govt, the state has decided to retract 2008 bill and is preparing a new draft legislation. The govt is currently processing this decision, with responses sent to questions raised by the MLA Kalicharan Saraf.
