Raj BJP raises issue of ‘crimes against women’ in wake of Priyanka’s rally
Jaipur: Hitting out at Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for her public rally in Jhunjhunu, LoP & BJP leader Rajendra Rathore said that the Congress leader should speak up on crimes against women in Rajasthan. “Priyanka Gandhi says ‘Ladki Hoon, Lad Sakti Hoon’. According to NCRB data, Rajasthan was at the top for crime against women for three consecutive years. The ministers (here) accepted that women are not safe (in Rajasthan). I hope she says something on this,” Rathore said.
Whereas, BJP National Spokesperson Rajyavardhan Rathore hit out at Priyanka Gandhi, saying, “Priyanka Gandhi is coming to Rajasthan today. I want to ask why does she not speak when there is a crime against women in Rajasthan. Two lakh crimes against women have happened in the state and why did the ‘Political Tourism Division’ of the Congress miss it,” he said at a press conference here. He claimed that two lakh incidents of crime against women happened during the Congress’ rule in Rajasthan and the law-andorder situation has deteriorated.
BJP State President CP Joshi said that govt’s schemes were hollow. “Last time, Rahul Gandhi had made false promises of loan waivers for farmers & this time, Priyanka is repeating the same pattern.” Joshi also accused Congress of being corrupt & filling their ‘envelope’ with black money while leaving the public empty-handed. He stressed that Cong tries to win polls by introducing relief schemes shortly before polls, but public sees through their tactics.
