PoW with 44 tourists reaches Jpr for X-Mas

Jaipur: A total of 44 tourists from three countries have chosen Palace on Wheels for the Christmas celebration. They will celebrate Christmas in different cities of Rajasthan while travelling in the train until December 26. When the royal train reached Jaipur on Thursday, the tourists were given a warm welcome at Gandhinagar station. The ‘Do Before Die List’ on the Palace on Wheels for Christmas tour has 34 tourists from America, six from India and four from Australia.

The tourists were given a red carpet welcome and boarded the train at Delhi and enjoyed the tune of a bagpiper band. Upon reaching the Gandhinagar station, they were welcomed with the traditional Kachhi Ghodi dance, melodious tunes of drums and shehnai and showering of flowers.

In the train too, staff members will dress up as Santa Claus and distribute gifts and jingles will also be played. Train Director Pradeep Bohra said that the train is fully booked for New Year. “Foreign tourists love the train’s itinerary, hospitality and luxury. Showing the people the cultural glimpse of the state through this luxury train along with Rajasthani tradition fills the tourists with enthusiasm,” he said.
