PM’s ‘political’ jibe earns CM’s censure
Jaipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi lashed out at the previous UPA government before sending off the first Vande Bharat train to Rajasthan. The last part of Modi’s speech was a sarcastic remark on Chief Minister Gehlot, which remained a topic of discussion. However, replying to the Prime Minister’s quip at the function, the Chief Minister later issued a press statement.
PM Modi, at the end of his address, mentioned the infighting in State Congress. Expressing special gratitude to the Chief Minister, PM Modi said, “CM Gehlot is going through many crises these days in political turmoil. Despite that, taking time out for development work, he came here and took part in the railway programme.”
Addressing Gehlot, Modi said that the work which should have been done immediately after independence, has not been done till now. “But you have so much faith in me that you have placed that work in front of me today. I thank you very much for the trust you place in me as a friend,” he said.
