PM Modi brings up ‘lal diary’ issue again; CM Gehlot says it got fused
Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday hit back on the allegations levelled by PM Modi and claimed that there was a conspiracy regarding red Diary which got fused. “A conspiracy was hatched in the BJP headquarters. In BJP headquarters, Shah, Nadda, Shekhawat, Zafar Islam conspired to topple my govt. My govt has been disturbed for five years. Due to their misdeeds the MLAs stayed in hotels for 40 days. Are these people worthy of being in power? They are toppling elected govts. They have no moral right to be in power. They toppled elected governments in Maharashtra, MP and Karnataka. They are toppling elected governments. Then what will be the meaning of elections? Do you want to hold elections in the future or not,” Gehlot questioned.
He further said, “I got Covid twice, but kept working. I am not sitting at home. People praise our schemes. The people of Rajasthan have love and faith in me and the party.” Gehlot said that his govt is not stopping schemes of BJP. “ERCP was BJP’s plan. We are taking it forward. The Centre has tried to stop the construction of the dam under ERCP by provoking Madhya Pradesh. We are taking forward the scheme of Vasundhara Raje’s time. They have a fight among themselves. The feud is between Vasundhara Raje and BJP high command.
“Why should the people of Raj suffer the consequences of this? This is not a good thing in democracy. Even after promising to give national project status to ERCP, PM Modi did not implement it,” he said.
CM said that while earlier the announcement was forgotten after the elections, but when he became CM for the first time, he took the initiative. “For the first time, I kept a copy of the manifesto in the Cabinet. I told the CS that this is our manifesto. Governance and decisions will be taken according to its written words,” Ashok Gehlot said, further adding, “I was defamed in Gujarat. When I was in charge there, they said that Ashok Gehlot is not allowing water to come to Gujarat. Now you know his speaking style. Modi is the guru of marketing. We believe in talking less and doing more. I regret saying this that today the Prime Minister said in Jodhpur that when people were dying in Jodhpur, where was the Chief Minister? Don’t know who briefs them?
