Peace and harmony essential for development, says Gehlot
Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that peace and non-violence are the basis of our culture and development is not possible in an environment of unrest, violence and tension.
“Mutual love, harmony and brotherhood can be maintained in the society only by peace and non-violence. There are examples of many countries in the world where violence has posed a threat to the entire humanity,” said Gehlot while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the offices of peace and non-violence cell in all the districts of the state through VC at CMR on Sunday.
Gehlot said this day inspires the countrymen to protect the country from all kinds of threats. On this occasion, he administered oath to oppose violence and maintain mutual harmony.
Gehlot that Raj is the only state in country where Dept of Peace & Non-Violence has been constituted. Along with this, people have also been trained in this regard by this Dept at the block level.
Director of the Dept Manish Sharma said that Directorate is conducting programmes on a wide scale in all areas of the state to spread Gandhi’s philosophy.
