Panwar Committee submits report on new Raj districts and divisions
Jaipur: The Panwar Committee has submitted its report on the newly formed 17 districts and 3 divisions of Rajasthan, addressing administrative jurisdiction, functionality, requirements, and financial resources. The report was handed over to Principal Secretary, Revenue, Dinesh Kumar at 6 PM today, 24 hours before the deadline.
Chaired by retired IAS officer Dr. Lalit K. Panwar, the committee reviewed input from 45 MLAs, 5 MPs, and all Divisional Commissioners, visiting 16 districts to assess ground realities and gather suggestions. Dr. Panwar told First India, “The report was prepared after a long exercise and thorough examination, considering inputs from various stakeholders.”
The Committee also included ACS from the Home, Rural Development, and Finance Departments, with Principal Secretary Dinesh Kumar as Member Secretary.
Formed on July 1, 2024, the report is a key step toward effective governance of the new administrative units.
