Pant miffed over working of transport dept officials

Jaipur: Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant today conducted a surprise inspection of the transport department’s headquarters in less than 2 months.

The chief secretary, in his visit of about 1 hr, inspected every section of headquarters and took information about files.

He found files pending in most of the sections, on which he expressed strong displeasure and ordered the Transport Commissioner to suspend ARTO Ravindra Joshi and Accounts Service Officer Jalendra.

CS has expressed displeasure several times regarding shortcomings and pendency of files. During his inspection on 14th February also, Pant had expressed his displeasure regarding the pendency of the files, but even after this the situation in the Transport HQs has not changed.

Pant said that there is continuous negative feedback from the transport department.

He also expressed strong displeasure over the dress code. He directed some personnel seen in jeans and t-shirts to go home and change their clothes. He also directed to give charge sheets to such personnel. He said that senior officers do not even check and if they close their eyes then how will the arrangements be improved?

Pant also got angry after seeing the dirty toilets. He told the officials that there is so much dirt here that one cannot stand even for a while.
