One more Asiatic lion dies in N’garh
Jaipur: The Asiatic Lion ‘GS’ died due to kidney failure at the Nahargarh Biological Park here on Wednesday morning pointing raising questions over the management of the park. In the last four years, a total of 14 big cats including GS have died in NBP, yet neither the doctor has been changed nor the ranger has been questioned and no effective measures have also been taken to prevent leptospirosis. Untrained wildlife care takers, lack of updating with new medical methods, administrative negligence and lack of monitoring have taken away 5 tigers, 6 lions and 3 panthers in just 4 years.
Surprisingly, GS’s creatinine level had reached 19 but this fact was hidden even from the media. It was even talked about sending GS back to Jodhpur, but the Jodhpur Forest Administration had got a clue that GS is ill and the NBP administration is trying to cover up its mistake by sending him to Jodhpur.
