New Blood Transfusion Services Section to be set in State soon

Jaipur: For the smooth operation of blood banks in the state, Blood Transfusion Services Section will be established under the Director of Public Health. This section will coordinate with the Drug Control Department in the state to ensure transparency and regular monitoring in all work related to the blood bank.

This information was given by ACS of the Medical and Health Department - Shubhra Singh - on Saturday on the occasion of presenting the report by the investigation team formed in the plasma theft case at JK Lone Hospital.

Singh said that according to the report presented by the investigation team, on the information about the role of a private hospital in plasma theft case at JK Lone Hospital, the department has also investigated the blood bank located at Soni Hospital. “A notice has been issued to the hospital if irregularities were found here. Action will also be taken against the hospital as per rules. The blood banks of Jaipuria and SMS Hospital were also inspected by the team. The arrangements in the blood banks of these two hospitals were found to be smooth,” she said.
