More than 100 vehicles, cache of minerals seized
Jaipur: A Swift action has been taken in the state on the very first day of the statewide joint campaign against illegal mining activities on Monday under which more than 100 vehicles and machinery along with a large quantity of minerals have been seized.
Mines Secretary Anandhi said that a strong message has been given to the mining mafia through the campaign that the state government is committed to completely curb all kinds of illegal mining activities plaguing Rajasthan.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma had instructed the officers in a review meeting on January 11 to take strict action against illegal mining activities following which a 15- day joint campaign of five departments including the Mines Department started on Monday.
The newly appointed Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant is personally reviewing the progress of the campaign, while Mines Secretary Anandhi is responsible for conducting and monitoring the campaign.
Under the campaign, Strict and decisive action was taken in various districts including Bhilwara, Jaipur, Nagaur, Sikar and more than 100 vehicles and machinery along with minerals were seized. The campaign is being monitored by collectors at the district level.
