Mobiles of PWD officials were on surveillance by ACB team

Jaipur: ACB’s Jaipur (I) unit and SIW unit carried out major action at the Nirman Nagar residence of Subodh Kumar Malik, Chief Engineer of PWD Department. The ACB team arrested the Chief Engineer, Executive Engineer and Assistant Engineer while accepting a bribe amount of Rs 10 lakh. ACB carried out this entire action after keeping the phone numbers of the accused on surveillance on the basis of source information. It is being told that for more than a month, the ACB was keeping an eye on the three accused.

Chief Engineer of PWD Department Subodh Kumar Malik had sent a departmental notice to Executive Engineer Jitendra Kumar Jain posted in Dungarpur for irregularities in the work. In lieu of not taking any action under the departmental notice and filing the notice, Malik demanded a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from Jitendra through Anant Kumar Gupta, Assistant Engineer posted in Banswara. After this, the ACB caught the three accused while transacting bribe amount at the residence of Jaipurbased Chief Engineer Subodh Kumar Malik.

ACB’s search is on at the residence and office of the three accused. Now the ACB is probing as to how many more officers and employees have been issued notices by Chief Engineer Subodh Kumar Malik.
