MLA Shobharani, 3 others join Cong ahead of Raj Polls
Jaipur: Expelled by BJP for cross-voting in RS polls, Dholpur MLA Shobharani Kushwaha joined the Congress along with 3 others on Wednesday. Cong gen secy Priyanka Gandhi Vadra welcomed the four leaders at a public meeting held at Aradavata in Jhunjhunu.
A BJP leader from Kishangarh, Vikas Chaudhary, and former NCW chairperson Mamta Sharma also joined Congress. The BJP had expelled Kushwaha from the party earlier in June last year for ‘cross-voting’ in the Rajya Sabha elections.
Chaudhary was disgruntled over not getting a BJP ticket from the Kishangarh Assembly seat in the upcoming polls.
Former chairperson of the National Women’s Commission, Mamta Sharma after joining the Congress said, “Subah ka bhula sham ko ghar laut aye to ismeni kya burai hai.” “The soul was with Cong, the body was somewhere else. I was feeling suffocated, today I am feeling very good,” she said.
