Millets be included in diet to eliminate malnutrition, says Deputy CM
Jaipur: Deputy CM Dr Prem Chand Bairwa while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the two-day Millets Conclave at Rajasthan Agricultural Research Institute, Durgapura on Friday, said that farmers need to come out of the wheatpaddy cycle as many health-related problems are being seen due to excessive use of these two crops. “There is a need to make Millet crops like jowar, bajra, ragi, and kangni a part of our diet, as these are gluten-free & would help in eliminating malnutrition. Millets are rich in zinc, iron, calcium & potassium.”
