Mammoth Protest by BJP Mahila Morcha against the Gehlot Government

Jaipur: The State BJP organized Mahila Morcha in Jaipur today. During this, prominent leaders of BJP addressed the gathering. BJP State President CP Joshi strongly criticized the Congress Government, stating that since their ascension to power in December 2018, the State has regrettably emerged as one of the leading States in terms of crimes against women. Shockingly, the State witnesses an alarming average of 15 to 18 rape incidents each day. This dire situation has resulted in women feeling unsafe in various settings, including their own homes, fields, roads, ambulances, hospitals, schools, and even police stations throughout the State.

CP Joshi lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to empowering women and treating daughters as a blessing rather than a burden. Joshi highlighted the Modi government's initiatives such as ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’, which aim to safeguard and educate girls. Additionally, the ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’ has been introduced to provide housing and build toilets in households, ensuring the advancement and respect of women. The government has also taken steps to provide gas connections to women, offer a 70 percent loan under the ‘Mudra Yojana’, and pave the way for women's selection in organizations like the CRPF and CISF. Notably, the government has made historic progress by allowing girls to enroll in military schools for the first time since India's independence.

Addressing the Mahila Aakrosh Sabha, Rajasthan's co-incharge Vijaya Rahatkar expressed her concern about the current State of Governance. Rahatkar further lamented the alarming frequency of rape and harassment incidents in Rajasthan, which have brought shame upon the State.

Rajsamand MP Diya Kumari said that the Gehlot Government is fast asleep and needs to be woken up. Women from all over the State have today come to protest against the deplorable crimes against them. This demonstration and march today is just the beginning and such protests will be held all over the State. She also quoted the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) statistics saying that the crime against women has risen by 46% since 2018. Today, Rajasthan has become the rape capital of the country.

Diya Kumari further added that today women in Rajasthan cannot venture out of their homes, since they are not safe. This is the land of brave men and women, where the power of women is worshipped. The Chief Minister of this State, Mr. Ashok Gehlot, who is also the Home Minister, cannot even provide security to the women of our State. The women of Rajasthan are today angry and disillusioned since the Government is not concerned about their safety. That day is not far when the people of Rajasthan will bid farewell to the Congress Government.

Diya Kumari and other leaders were detained when they tried to reach the Chief Minister’s residence breaking the barricades. Bharatpur MP Ranjeeta Koli and other BJP leaders and workers were injured in the scuffle and admitted to the hospital.
