Land Transfer issue: Agri Min Dr Meena thanks CM for swift action
Jaipur: After a written complaint by the Agriculture Minister regarding the transfer of Horticulture Department land on the main road in Alwar city to ERCP, the Bhajanlal government has cancelled the land allotment. A case of Water Resources Dept land in Bikaner for ERCP has also been cancelled.
Agriculture Minister Dr Kirodi Lal Meena had written a letter to CM Bhajan Lal Sharma regarding the transfer of the land of ‘Rajhans Nursery’ of the Horticulture Department on the main road of Alwar to ERCP and auctioning it. Before that, the Principal Secretary of the Agriculture and Horticulture Department, Vaibhav Galaria, had written a letter to ACS Abhay Kumar of the Water Resources Department, demanding cancellation of the land allotment. The land of the Industries Department was transferred to the Water Resources Department, but the name transfer wasn’t completed, whereas, the Water Resources Department auctioned the land. The Agriculture Minister disclosed in a letter to CM that sale of Industries Dept land, valued at Rs 45 cr, for only Rs 9 cr amounted to defrauding the govt of Rs 35 crore.
This is not just one case, but many such cases may come to light in Rajasthan. Taking the matter seriously, the CM cancelled land allotment in Alwar. Similarly, in the Bikaner case, all further actions have been halted, and the land auction cancelled. Dr Meena alleges collusion among ERCP Commission officials. “Today, the land is worth Rs 45 cr in market price. If UIT sells this land, it can sell for up to Rs 50 cr. District Collector of Alwar was unaware of sale”he said. Meena questioned the silence of Industries Department, urging investigation.
