Kab Hai Diwali? Confusion of two dates to be cleared today!

Jaipur: To clear the confusion about the date of Diwali celebrations, a religious meeting will be held in Jaipur on Tuesday at Central Sanskrit University in Triveni Nagar. Eighty-four scholars, vice-chancellors, directors, professors, astrologers, panchang makers and religious scholars will attend this meeting to decide on a final date for Diwali celebrations, which would be in accordance with Sanatan tradition. People are confused about the correct date of Diwali. Some believe the festival is on October 31 while others say it’s Nov 1.

As Kartik Amavasya will start on October 31 at 3:53 pm and will end on Nov 1 at 6.17 pm, people argue that Diwali should be celebrated on October 31. Others say that most part of Amavasya would be on November 1, so Diwali should be celebrated on November 1. In Ayodhya Diwali will be celebrated on November 1 while in Kashi, Mathura and Vrindavan it will be celebrated on October 31.
