JODHPUR TENSE AFTER CLASHES ON EID

Jaipur/Jodhpur: The BJP leaders on Tuesday reacted sharply after the Jalori Gate violence in Jodhpur and attacked CM Ashok Gehlot accusing him of indulging in the politics appeasement. They said Gehlot was busy in receiving birthday wishes while Jodhpur was burning. Union Minister and Jodhpur MP Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that the law and order situation is in disarray in Rajasthan. The BJP MP also warned the Congress-led government in the State that if no action is taken in the Jodhpur incident, then they will hold a massive protest at Jalori Gate in the city.

“What happened at the time of morning Namaz that immediately afterwards cars were vandalised, houses were pelted with stones, women were insulted in Jodhpur. Police did not take any pre-emptive steps to prevent this,” Shekhawat said.

“I appeal to the CM to shun his vote bank politics for the sake of peace, harmony and safety of the common people,” BJP state president Satish Poonia said. Deputy LoP Rajendra Rathore called the incident a blot on the Gehlot government. He said that Gehlot is also the head of the state’s home department but rioters are fearless.

“CM Ashok Gehlot is also State’s Home Minister and the police administration comes under him. The Karauli incident, the CM justified by saying that ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans were raised. Why did the Jodhpur incident happen?” said National spokesperson Rajyavardhan Rathore.
