Mayor Dr. Somya Gurjar said that 15 proposals have been passed in the board meeting which will directly benefit the public and the trust in the corporation’s services will increase.

A meeting will be held on June 27 to increase the budget for development works and road construction in the wards. The meeting lasted over eight hours from 12 noon to 8.15 pm in which three hours were wasted in the uproar, councillors took an hour for lunch and the discussion was held for three hours.

It was anticipated that Congress councilors would protest, but instead of them, independent councilors who were supporting the BJP cornered the Mayor. The BJP councilors were seen divided into 2 groups. The dispute between 2 councilors supporting BJP in the meeting increased so much that Swati Parnami sat on a dharna, and Sheel Dhabhai and Jayshree Garg came in her support. Later, after the persuasion of Mayor Gurjar & Deputy Mayor Puneet Karnawat, they returned to their seats. A Congress councilor raised the demand for free wood for cremation following which Karnawat said that Congress should also give a guarantee card for this, which led to an uproar.
