JMC official gets 4-yr jail for a 2016 bribery case
Jaipur: Dharm Singh Meena, the former JEN of JMC’s Moti Dungri Zone, has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for taking a bribe in exchange for not obstructing the demolition of a construction site.
Dharm Singh, a resident of Baswa, Bandikui, was caught accepting 70,000 rupees on April 7, 2016. Karan Singh, a corporation coordinator who threatened the complainant Pramod, has received a 3-year prison sentence as Judge Surendra Kumar imposed fines of 1.60 lakh rupees on Dharmsingh and 40,000 rupees on Karan Singh.
They had initially demanded 50,000 rupees per floor for construction in Usha Colony of Malviya Nagar, eventually settling on 40,000 rupees per floor for the basement, ground, and first floors. The prosecution sanction was issued by then Commissioner Hemant Gera on November 18, 2016.
