JDA removes 140 structures on New Sanganer rd; HC puts stay

Jaipur: Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) started a campaign to widen Sanganer Road. On the first day, 140 constructions on road boundary were removed. The New Sanganer Road is 200 feet wide in JDA’s master plan, whereas on the spot, it is only 145 to 150 feet wide. JDA started this campaign to remove constructions made in 50 to 55 feet width in the road boundary towards Prithviraj Nagar. The campaign was started from Kisan Dharmkanta at around 9:30 am with five JCB machines and two Poklane machines. The stairs of the showroom built here and the shops ahead were demolished.

During action, a traffic light pole fell on a person on corner of the road going to Manyavas. The injured person was immediately taken to hosp. This person was among crowd gathered at the spot during action. After this incidentthe onlookers were removed from the spot.

Meanwhile, in a significant relief to people, Rajasthan High Court has put a halt to the demolition of structures belonging to approximately 10 petitioners. The court has ordered a stay on demolition activities concerning the petitioners’ properties until the matter is considered by a regular bench.
