Jaipur International Airport celebrates International Fire Fighters Day; holds drills
Jaipur: Jaipur International Airport celebrated “International Fire Fighters Day” to honour the brave men and women who risk their lives to keep airport safe from fires and other emergencies.
On this occasion, Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting teams conducted a mock drill and demonstrated their skills and preparedness to meet any untoward fire incident. All stakeholders were present on this occasion.
Heavy fire fighting machines and vehicles were used in the exercise. Stand by medical emergency unites, ambulances, mobile command post vehicle were also used in the drill. International Firefighter’s Day traces its origins back to a tragic event in Australia. On December 2, 1998, five firefighters lost their lives while battling blaze in Linton, Victoria.
