IT raids reveal Rs 709 crore in unaccounted transactions
Jaipur: Income tax department officials have seized Rs 1.84 crore in cash and personal jewelry worth Rs 18.48 crore during the raids on JKJ Jewellers and Joshi Group that started on Tuesday and ended on Saturday.
The IT sleuths have detected unaccounted cash transactions worth Rs 709 crore. More revelations are expected from the documents, digital devices, mobile phones, etc. seized in the raid. Evidence of transactions worth crores of rupees done through Hawala has also been collected in the raid. This evidence also includes the photo of the currency note on the mobile phone, which is used to pay the hawala amount.
In the physical verification of the stock done in the showrooms of JKJ JewelLers Group, the officials did not find the account of 130 kg of gold, on the basis of which further action will be taken.
