Irrigation water to be released for farmers in festive season
Jaipur: The Water Resources Department has given a reason for farmers to rejoice as irrigation water for Rabi crops has been released from MahiBajaj Sagar Dam. Officials informed that in the first phase, irrigation water has been released in 100 villages and in the next two phases, water will be provided to 946 villages from Mahi-Bajaj Sagar Dam.
“Irrigation water from other dams can be released in the next two to three days. About 20,000 hectares of land, including 946 villages of six towns, will be provided water. Farmers will be given water thrice for cultivation of Rabi crops and a total of 80,000 hectares of land in 2500 villages will be covered. The irrigation water will be given from October to January,” said Bhuvan Bhaskar, Chief Engineer of the Water Resources Department.
