Irked with Transport Dept, CM Sharma directs for image boost

Jaipur: On Sunday, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma held a review meeting of the Transport Department at the CMO. During the meeting, the CM expressed strong displeasure regarding activities that led to action by the ACB in Bharatpur.

Sharma emphasised that such activities in the Transport Department won’t be tolerated and expressed dissatisfaction with ACS Transport and the Transport Commissioner. They were instructed to perform well to improve the department’s image. Deputy CM Dr Premchand Bairwa was also present during the meeting.

Interestingly, complaints from Jaipur RTO II Dharmendra Chaudhary regarding targeted action against buses and trucks had reached the CM. Thus, the CM expressed his discontent regarding this during the meeting. Following the review of Transport Dept, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma will conduct review meetings of other departments in days to come. Notably, RTO regional in-charges will now be required to conduct daily monitoring. RTO office work must be monitored for 7 hours, and a report must be submitted to Transport Commissioner every day. Previously, regional in-charges were only active in March. In response to the CM’s dissatisfaction, the Transport Dept issued new directives.
