Investment proposals worth Rs 1.41L crore signed in mining & petroleum sector so far
Jaipur: In a major initiative to enhance Rajasthan’s mining and petroleum sectors, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma chaired the Rising Rajasthan Pre-Summit on Friday. Rajasthan is a significant player in crude oil and natural gas production, contributing nearly 15% of India’s total crude oil output and 3.3 million cubic meters of natural gas daily. The summit also saw the launch of the coffee table book ‘Mineral Marvels of Rajasthan: Building India’s Iconic Monuments and Timeless Treasures’, which highlights the state’s geological heritage.
Principal Secretary T Ravikanth highlighted Raj’s record investor interest in the mining sector, with Rs 141,184 cr in signed proposals, including Rs 63,463 cr. Collaborations with IIT Madras on Rare Earth Elements (REE) & Indian Oil for coal gasification were also announced, opening new opportunities for exploration and job creation. The event showcased exhibitions on refining, petroleum etc., ending with the ceremonial lamp lighting.
