Govts should move towards providing Social Security: CM
Jaipur: CM Ashok Gehlot while addressing the Labharthi Samvaad at CMR, said that it is the responsibility of the government to provide social security to every person & governments should move towards the same. The CM said that according to the basic spirit of the Constitution, every person has the right to live with dignity. The state government has made various efforts in this direction. “By implementing the Chief Minister’s Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in the state, instead of 100 days in the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme, 125 days of employment is being made available.
Similarly, a historic law has been made and implemented in the form of ‘Right To Health.’ The Central government should also implement a social security law on same lines.
During this, a large number of beneficiaries participated in the programme via VC from Ramleela Maidan in Jaipurr. Gehlot said that benefits of 10 schemes are being given in inflation relief camps. Scooty is being given to girl students and specially abled. Free uniforms and milk are being provided daily to students of govt schools.
Nearly 8 lakh people are deprived of pension due to lack of verification. Some of the beneficiaries expressed their pain, & complained of not getting pension for 6 months due to lack of verification.
