Gold Mines to be auctioned for the first time
Jaipur: Under the leadership of Chief Minister and Minister of Mines and Geology Department, Bhajan Lal Sharma, the Mining Department of Rajasthan is set to create history. The department is preparing for the auction of the state’s first gold mines in Bhukia Jagpura, Banswara.
After completing the necessary formalities for the e-auction of two gold mines, the auction tender will be launched on the Government of India’s eportal in about a month.
The new government formed under the guidance of CM Bhajan Lal Sharma took effective action against the mining mafia by running a statewide campaign against illegal mining activities. The auction process of major and minor blocks and RCC ERCC contracts has started.
Mines Secretary Anandi said there are huge gold reserves in the 14 sq.km area of BhukiaJagpura of Ghatol tehsil of Banswara.
According to a rough estimate by the Mines and Geology Department of State Government, during the mining of gold ore here, more than 1.74 lakh tonnes of copper, more than 9,700 tonnes of nickel and more than 13,500 tonnes of cobalt mineral will be obtained. Both the blocks are being finalised for auction by the state government’s Rajasthan State Mineral Exploration Trust, formally known as RSMET.
